On December the 5th 2018 in Pavia, Italy the GEM (Global Earthquake Model) Foundation will organize at the Church of Saints James and Philip, in the ancient heart of Pavia's old town in Italy, the event to present the global earthquake hazard and risk maps.
More than 100 delegates from around the world and across various sectors, and even the EPOS coordinator Massimo Cocco will attend the event for the presentation of the global maps which are aimed to enhance disaster risk reduction strategies worldwide, a step toward Earthquake resilience.
The GEM Event will feature:
- release of the global earthquake hazard and risk maps,
- presentations on new directions from public, private and academic perspectives
- panel discussions to explore development, uses, drivers and future of maps and models
- posters and demonstrations showing the development and application of GEM tools and models
The event is by Iinvitation only. However, it is possible to follow the event via live streaming and social media.
